5 days in Aitkin

Spending 5 days in Aitkin was very eventful.  Arrived on Saturday and spent the day doing errands with mother, visiting dad and having dinner at McDonalds!! Go our first smere game in.   Saturday was spent getting ready for winter, covering the bird houses, bringing in chairs for the winter, cleaning up the flower beds and getting a nap in!!!  The 2007 hospital ball was a very gala event with many good food items and drinks.  We listening to a quartet from the physicians entertain us.  Visited with Sue Miller, a friend of Betty Wall.  Sunday morning found us at the new St. James Church and then off to lunch in Crosby for the Knight's of Columbus.  More card games in the evening.  Monday at 5:00 am the alarm went off for the trip to Brainerd for a dental visit.  A crown prep constitutes laying on your back with your feet higher then your head and can make a person very light headed!!!  Guess what....  On the way home to Aitkin, we stopped in Ironton at City Hall and viewed the picture of Dick Burdick on the volunteer fireman hall of fame.  Chris Hagman was cleaning carpets while we were gone.  A long nap happened for the afternoon.  Monday night found us having dinner with Janzen's and getting our snuggles with Carson.  Debbie and Hugh are enjoying grandparenting.  Tuesday we were finishing up the never ending errands (who will take us when we are old?)  Mother was pretty tired so we enabled the use of drugs/heat/ice to help stave off the trip to ER.  She managed to make it and was having coffee and pie with Janzen's later.  Lois enjoys her cats as they give her much company.  However, since Biff broke his hip and has trouble using the litter boxes, there have been a few messes.  In trying to figure out how to manage the situation, Penny didn't like the new arrangements so she made messes in places other than the litter boxes.  Besides her and Biff fighting!! Thanks goodness for the gray fur balls.  Not sure who is ruling the roost tonight but know that there are many litter boxes around the house.  Dad was absolutely wonderful today looking at the photo albums.  Told me many stories and knew all the people without looking at the names under them.  Well, I hope you have enjoyed my journeling of my days in Aitkin  Terry
