Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year

October 4, 2005 3:20 am will always be a time and day Howard and I will remember where we were. The emergency room at the St Cloud Hospital with the physician telling us that Howard has bladder cancer. The next 40 hours were a roller coaster. Alysa came to spend the day and Scott came during breaks from school. The end result was it was superficial and that was removed entirely and he will be examined every three months for the next year and then evaluate the results.

We are back to our normal routine of life of staying busying with our various volunteer jobs. Howard ends four years as co-president of the St Cloud Area Retired Teachers. Falling on the ice in February, kept him limping for months.

I have spent many days with my parents in Aitkin. Dad is slowing down and mother gets very tired being the 24/7 caregiver. They enjoy having the company and someone to do the various errands and chores.

July 4th was a great celebration this year with 19 Swedish relatives coming for a family reunion in Aitkin. The entire weekend was spent getting to know each other and discovering our connecting roots.

Alysa and Lars have moved to their new home in Rogers. They are getting acquainted with the new neighbors and friends for Avery and Tate to play with. Lars is still at Target and Alysa at Boston Scientific.

Scott is at the St Cloud Technical College in the AAS accounting program. He will be doing an internship at a local accounting firm this spring processing income tax returns. He and Howard love talking taxes. Scott was interviewed on TV this summer in Milwaukee while tailgating at the Minnesota Twins game.

We hope that the year has been good to you and we cherish your friendship and cards and pictures. The many family reunions and celebrations of life and death weave us all together in a wonderful tapestry of life.
