Christmas 2006

2006-the year the baby boomers start turning 60. Terry was among them and got well roasted at a surprise party in November. The family did a good job of keeping things quiet while orchestrating such an event.

In February, we took our first southwest trip and visited friends and family in Arizona. They were counting over 130 days of no rain. We have snow storms, they have dirt storms. It was fun to see different country and cultures. However, there are a lot of Minnesota people wintering in the warm breezes of the south, so we didn’t feel too out of place.

In March, Terry’s family decided that it was time for a change for her parents. Dad entered the nursing home to try to help with his walking and balance and giving Mom the rest for her back and constant worry about Dad falling. Both are doing well. Dad has the constant care of people who are able to help him and Mom can continue to live in their home and visit often, since she is less than a mile from the nursing home.

Summertime found us enjoying the many family reunions, camping and tending to the outdoor chores of maintaining a home. Avery and Tate enjoyed the camp fires, swimming in a lake and helping Lars catch scorpions!! Boys will be boys. Alysa preferred the quiet afternoon naps. Scott and friends come up to camp but are much more interested in the night life in the area.

Scott will graduate with his accounting degree this winter and thanks to Enron, there is a need to keep things accountable.

Howard looks forward to the tax season again and visiting with his hospice patients. Terry was chosen as volunteer of the year for the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association. Volunteering at the police stations has been very enlightening!!! Volunteering at the St Cloud Hospital has been very rewarding.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year
